Best Knit Tops, Tees and Tanks for Women for Summer Styling

In terms of fashion, summer is a time when we want to begin fresh. To do this, we wear light fabrics and soft textures. For many women, one of the staples in their wardrobes is the knit tops for women. The variety of styles in this range of tops means that there are certain styles of knit clothing for women to wear for different occasions and also to create different impressions. Women can wear knit clothing for casual affairs around the house and also wear women’s knit clothing when going out for dinner or to other events. One of the collections in this variety of styles for knit tops for women is the Tees collection by Estell Boutiques. We’re looking at the various moods that women’s knit tops can embody and on which occasions one can wear them. They can be classic T-shirts for casual occasions or ribbed tank tops that exude sporty-chic style and can be worn throughout the year. Also, when looking for more fashionable options to wear during the day to work and afterwards to dinner with friends, we have various designs and colors of knit tops to choose from that will undoubtedly meet all of your expectations. The Estell Boutiques Tees collection presents you with an array of options that are suitable for every occasion during the summer season. Why Knit Tops Work So Well for summer summer is a transitional season. The cool mornings can turn to hot days by the afternoon. So a woman’s knit tops are the perfect item for this time of year. They are light enough to wear as the weather warms up and can also be layered up on cool days. A good quality knit will have enough give in the fabric to move with you but also enough structure to hold its shape, meaning that it will last you all day without losing its shape. For these reasons, women’s knit tops are one of the most practical and versatile items of women’s fashion tops. Knitwear also has a softer aesthetic to it, often photographing well and being more fitting for the natural, relaxed style that many take on during the summer. The Earthy tones, soft neutral shades and muted pastel colors all feature in the Estell boutiques Tees collection as well as the Women’s knitwear range this season.  The Ribbed Knit Tank: A summer Non-Negotiable The ribbed knit tank is, arguably, the one summer essential that everyone needs in their wardrobe. Not only does the ribbed texture of the fabric add visual interest to the simple design of a tank, but the knit fabric also provides a much softer and more refined look and feel than that of a traditional cotton jersey tee. And, most importantly, this type of women’s everyday top can be worn on its own as well as layered under another garment. So whether you wear this type of women’s clothing on its own with a pair of high-waisted pants and a pair of flat sandals and a woven bag, or layered under a blazer or an open-collar shirt, the ribbed knit tank is the perfect base layer to wear in summer. This is why we think that the Estell ribbed knit tanks in a mix of neutrals would make for a fantastic new addition to your wardrobe, providing you with a great set of basics to work from in order to make a whole host of summer outfits. Knit Tees: The Elevated Everyday Essential A knit tee is different from a cotton jersey tee. These are a more refined piece of clothing, and they look really great as a base layer under blazers or as a casual wear piece on their own. They are so soft and comfortable to wear. A high-quality fine-gauge knit tee in a plain color is a great piece of clothing to invest in. Oatmeal, ivory, white, and pale colored cotton or merino tees are all perfect to layer under trousers and dresses for work and to wear on their own with a skirt or trousers for a casual night out or weekend wear. A soft rose or pale pink cotton or merino knit tee is a great item to throw on with some straight-cut jeans and a pair of boots for a great casual look. There are many reasons why casual knit tops have become so popular in recent years, but one of the main reasons is that they have the ability to age well. Unlike some other fabrics, quality knit tops are able to keep their shape and hold their drape long after the rest of the outfit has begun to falter. And with the Estell range of knit tees available in a range of styles and sizes, from short-sleeved to relaxed fit, you can find the perfect women’s everyday tops to add to your wardrobe. Styling Knit Tops for Different summer Occasions A casual knit top is also another layering option that can be dressed up or down. A fine-knit crew-neck top in a muted color such as slate grey, warm camel or deep navy can be worn with a pair of tailored wide-leg pants for work or with a pencil skirt for a more dressy occasion. Fine knit is lightweight enough to wear over a t-shirt on a cooler day, and a crew-neck is a very flattering shape to wear. A fine knit crew neck in a muted color such as slate grey, warm camel, or deep navy can be worn for work in the summer in a casual but professional way by wearing it over a t-shirt and pairing it with a pair of tailored wide-leg pants or a pencil skirt. The fine knit fabric of this style of top adds flexibility to a more formal garment, and when fitted well, gives a professional look. Taking to the town in the evenings requires a slightly deeper coloured knit top that can dress down for a casual night out and then transform for more formal occasions to come. Chocolate brown, forest green, or rich burgundy are just a few of the colors that work wonderfully for an evening of entertainment. Paired with a flowy midi skirt and some heeled sandals will create a lovely dressed-up look that is perfect for a night out on the town. The simplicity of the knit top allows for the real focal point to be the jewelry and accessories in the outfit – really statement making earring or a bold necklace can take the simple knit top to night out attire. Women's Tanks and Tees as Layering Anchors As with all pieces, Women’s Tanks and Tees can also be used as a layering piece for summer. The goal of layering in summer is different from that in Winter, as we are not trying to add warmth, but rather lightness and interest to an outfit. A slim ribbed-knit tank under a sheer printed blouse or an oversized linen overshirt left open is a great example of how a Women’s Tank can be used to add interest to an outfit. The layering piece provides the foundation of the outfit, and the outer layer can be opened up and used to add decoration to the overall look. This is why a quality knit tank or tee can be the foundation for so many great outfits. Whether or not you have to strip down to your tank in the heat of the day or add an overshirt or sweater in the cooler of the morning and evening hours, this type of basic is a must. Browse the collection of women’s everyday knit tees and tanks above and see for yourself how a well-made basic can form the basis of so many different outfits. Choosing the Right Knit Weight for summer When choosing knit clothing for summer and Summer, the heavier knits found in winter clothing, such as chunky ribbed knit or cable knit, are best to save for late Winter or early Autumn. For summer and Summer, it is best to opt for lighter-weight knit tops. Fine-gauge knit tops are the best choice for a summer wardrobe as they sit close to the skin, without being too tight or clingy. They can be tucked into high-waisted bottoms such as linen trousers and look great. Fine-gauge knit pieces are fitted, so they sit closely to the body but are not see-through. The items in our collection of short-sleeve knit tops for women would look great tucked into a pair of high-waisted linen trousers or wide-leg pants and would not add bulk to the waistband. They make the perfect summer wardrobe addition because you can wear them right through the season from early March until late May and beyond. Colour and Print Choices Worth Exploring When choosing a color for summer, you will find a wide array of colors to choose from to add to your wardrobe. From the early days of summer and the colder nights to the latter days of the season when it starts to get warmer, Estell Boutiques offers a wide array of colors to ensure that you can wear your tees throughout the whole of the season. Colors such as white and cream are perfect for early summer days and can be dressed up or down for a casual outing. Colors such as terracotta, sage green, pale lavender, and buttery yellow are perfect for the latter days of summer and can be worn on their own or as part of a tonal color outfit. There are also a number of different prints to choose from, including subtle stripes that can add a touch of personality to any outfit without being too overpowering. Soft printed and textured pieces like fine stripe and fine rib are perfect for adding a bit of interest to your casual everyday pieces, but are not so overpowering that you can’t wear them with every other item in your wardrobe. So whether you like to pair up solid colored trousers with a printed blouse, or printed skirts with denim, a striped knit tee is the perfect addition to any outfit. Building Your summer Knit Wardrobe There are just a few basic items that form the core of the summer Wardrobe, and the ribbed knit tank is at the top of the list. After that, there is the basic knit tee, preferably made from a fine-gauge knit and cut to fit neatly into high-waisted pants and tops. And finally, there is the short-sleeved knit shirt – again fitted, again of fine-gauge knit, and again a basic item to be mixed and matched with every other item in your summer wardrobe. A large proportion of italian boutique clothing can be added to any existing wardrobe to form the basis of many new outfits. So whether you need to update your wardrobe for summer or you are starting from scratch, here at Estell Boutiques, our range of women’s tees and knit tops is a great place to begin. With many styles of women’s knit tops to choose from, our fine-gauge knit tops and high-quality women’s knit shirts are designed to be comfortable to wear and to form the basis of outfits for every occasion. FAQs 1. What makes knit tops a good choice for summer wear?  Knit fabrics are lightweight, breathable, and naturally stretchy, which makes them comfortable in warm weather while still holding their shape. They also drape well, so they work for both casual and slightly dressed-up looks. 2. Can knit tops be worn in hot and humid climates?  Yes, as long as you choose the right fiber. Cotton, linen-blend, and lightweight modal knits are ideal for humidity since they allow airflow and wick moisture better than heavier synthetic knits. 3. What's the difference between a knit tee and a regular cotton tee?  A knit tee is made using a looped fabric construction that gives it more stretch and a softer drape, while a standard cotton tee is often woven with less flexibility. Knit tees tend to move with the body more easily. 4. Are tank tops considered knitwear?  Many tank tops are made from knit fabric, especially ribbed or jersey-knit styles. These offer a closer fit and are popular for layering or wearing solo in the summer heat. 5. How do I style a knit top for a casual daytime look?  Pair a relaxed knit tee with denim shorts or a midi skirt and sandals. Adding a straw bag or simple sunglasses keeps the look easy and summer-appropriate. 6. Can knit tanks be dressed up for evening occasions?  Yes, a well-fitted ribbed knit tank paired with tailored trousers or a linen skirt, plus statement jewelry, can easily transition into an evening-ready outfit. 7. What colors work best for summer knit tops?  Light, breathable shades like white, pastel tones, and soft neutrals are popular for summer, though bold brights and stripes are also great for adding personality to warm-weather outfits. 8. How do I care for knit tops so they last through the season?  Washing in cold water, avoiding high heat when drying, and folding instead of hanging (for looser knits) helps maintain shape and prevent stretching out over time. 9. Are knit tops suitable for layering in summer?  Yes, lightweight knit tanks or tees work well under kimonos, unstructured blazers, or sheer cardigans for cooler summer evenings without adding bulk. 10. What body types do knit tops flatter most?  Knit fabric's natural stretch makes it flattering across most body types since it moves with the body rather than sitting stiffly. Choosing the right neckline and fit—fitted, relaxed, or cropped—lets you tailor the style to your shape.

Women's Body Measurement Guide: Measuring Instructions

How to Measure Women's Body Size Guide

When you shop for the best fit, use a soft tape measure and wear tight-fitting clothing to record an accurate measurement. A mirror can help to double-check the tape placement.

Bust Measurement

Wrap the tape across the fullest part of your bust. Keep it horizontal along your back and comfortably snug, not too tight or loose.

Waist Measurement

Measure your natural waist, usually the narrowest part of your torso, about 1–2 inches above the belly button. Keep the tape snug but not tight.

Hips Measurement

With feet together, measure around the widest part of your hips and buttocks. Make sure the tape stays level all the way around.

Inseam Measurement

Start at the top of your inner thigh and measure down to your ankle. This gives the correct pant length.

For best results, keep the tape straight and untwisted. Measure each area twice and record if needed.
